Hello, hello, hello, it’s Autumn and schools are back in. Lunch boxes are being filed with fun snacks and all of the department stores are having sales and discounted merchandise for the season. The kiddos are engaged and you can see home school volunteers standing at the corner with their crosswalk jackets on to make sure walking to school is a safe experience. But now what, is it just me or is it a super weird experience to have after being stuck inside together for almost a triple summer vacation. The DVR is set to full family shows. The family room and kitchen have been rearranged to accommodate long family discussions and game night. The toddler gate has been in the way of the bathroom door to take care of your business. Well don't get too comfortable. Today's blog is about taking this extended family time idea to the next step . Taking a family vacation. With school in you’ll have more than enough time to research the destination that fits your families interest best. Based on the AAA website, Arizona, California and Oregon are among the top places to visit for summer 2022. You might ask the question, how the heck would I pay for family vacation on an unemployment and COVID work schedule? That is a fair question. However, the truth is that you can start saving for it now and you’d be surprised how prepared you will be when the time arrives. According to my research a family cruise is a great option and offers a payment plan where you pay the cruise line directly on a monthly schedule. This is sometimes more appealing to those who don't always stick to their budget. Otherwise, you would hold the itinerary with a deposit and put the rest in a savings account to pay in full when the date gets closer. If a family vacation seems to be too far outside of your reach; think about taking a family drive to some historic site or tourist attraction in your state . Trust me every state in the U.S. has one. The main objective is the time spent as a family unit with the least amount of stress possible . Studies show that when you're on vacation (of any sort) there’s a release of dopamine into the system and it makes having hard conversations easier and spending time with your loved ones more enjoyable. So until next time keep the sandal up front and start your wheels for next summer's family unwind and dine season.
